With talk of Christian Pulisic heading for the Premier League as early as January, Borussia Dortmund are apparently drawing up contingency plans. Despite not hitting the heights of previous seasons so far, Pulisic is obviously a big talent and would be a huge loss for the Black and Yellows. However, with talk of moves as much as €70m in value, could a sale really be the worst thing for the Schwarzgelben?
It would depend. If, as rumors claim, a move for Thorgan Hazard could take place, then it would be very much worth making the move. Hazard has been a star for a Borussia Monchengladbach side which is the surprise contender for the Bundesliga alongside BVB.
While it would see mad for the Foals to consider a sale in January, it could happen. BVB would be armed with cash, and his incredible form for Gladbach would make him worth the money. At just 25, Hazard is set to take that all-important next step in his career – and a move to Dortmund would make a lot of sense.
When you watch Hazard, he looks very much a Lucien Favre player. Immense technical qualities are combined with strong physical capacity and a knife-between-the-teeth desire to win at all costs. With his form arguably impressing every bit as much as his more illustrious brother back in England, Hazard looks set to take that next step up – and his incredible form so far in 2018/19 shows why Dortmund would be crazy to ignore him if they sell their USMNT star.
